Every mother’s day, she made an elaborate plan of killing herself because she did not want to deal with it. She did not want to smile and small chat with acquaintances about what she’d done for mother’s day. She did not want to wake up that morning and have to … feel her heart beating, and thank her own mother for all that she’s done.

Because her mother has done a great deal, most prominently make sure that even the freedom of dying is nearly tucked away from her daughter’s reach, right alongside her right to live.

But the story still stands. The daughter is ungrateful, for at least she is alive. If anything, she deserves all pain bestowed upon her, because a mother always knows best.

It will always be a happy mother’s day, and every daughter owes her mother that.
